An electrical busbar is a rectangular conductor that carries large currents in distribution boards, packaged transformer substations, busways and electrolysis plants. A busbar is more compact than a cable of the same rating, sheds heat better and is easy to mount on insulators.
Copper or aluminium
Copper busbar to GOST 434-78 conducts about 1.6 times better than aluminium and takes less space, so it goes into switchboards and switchgear cells. Aluminium busbar to GOST 15176-89 in AD31T is three times lighter and much cheaper and is chosen for busways and long runs. Galvanised steel bar is used for earthing loops and equipotential bonding.
The section is chosen for the operating current, permissible temperature rise and cooling conditions. Send the current and the diagram and we will size the busbar and supply it in cut lengths.
