Кабели на 110 и 220 кВ связывают подстанции высокого напряжения, выводят мощность электростанций и вводят питание в центры городов, где воздушная линия невозможна. Изоляция из сшитого полиэтилена наносится тройной экструзией, поверх неё — медный экран, продольная водоблокировка и алюмополимерная лента (индекс «2гж»), которая не пропускает влагу к изоляции.

Такие кабели поставляют под проект: сечение жилы, экрана и строительные длины рассчитывают под трассу, вместе с кабелем подбирают концевые и соединительные муфты.
