Из них делают противовесы и балансиры в авиации и автоспорте, сердечники, защиту от излучения в медицине и дефектоскопии. Композит вольфрам-медь ВМ применяют для электродов контактной и электроэрозионной обработки, вольфрам-рениевые сплавы — для термопар и нагревателей.
